On Saturday 18 November, Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre invited the Exeter PA Network for a fun-filled festive event.
The day started with mulled wine (as well as a non-alcoholic alternative) and networking followed by the opportunity to view a selection of the Centre’s eight rooms. A Christmas Table Decoration workshop run by the Abbey’s Garden Department then gave all attending the chance to get creative and the visit was rounded off with the renowned Chef’s Selection buffet lunch.
The aim of the day was to show the PA network the varied options available when hosting an event or conference at Buckfast Abbey. Quite apart from small meetings to multi-room conferences, Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre can offer additional extras – ranging from a beekeeping talk, to a tour of the Abbey Church and even a herb class with the Abbey’s Head Gardener.
The Exeter PA Network is a professional networking group dedicated to Executive Assistants (EAs), Personal Assistants (PAs), Secretaries and Administrators.
The network provides an opportunity for members to connect with like-minded individuals from across different sectors in Exeter and the surrounding areas, providing a forum to share best practice.
Exeter PA Network members enjoyed a delightful visit to Buckfast Abbey on Saturday, 18 November, when we were able to tour the conference facilities the venue has to offer. The meeting rooms have been modernised in their décor, and have been the subject of significant upgrades in terms of their AV and AC equipment. We were able to sample the food offering, which was delicious, and take part in a Christmas table decoration workshop, hosted by one of the gardeners. It was a lot of fun. The venue is well placed in a beautiful and peaceful setting, supported by hotel style accommodation, plenty of parking, and is easily accessible from the A38.
